Challenging and confusing. Seems simultaneously like forever and a flash in the pan. Very lonely or filled with company. An ocean filled with faith crests and doubt troughs that sweep you over in each wave of emotion.
God’s timing can be terrifying to contemplate “When?” “Where?” “How?” His timing shines a light the worst aspects of your character in the process of pruning you to become His best. During the wait you learn about your flawed condition, human, and you’re brought to humility.
The entire universe, and all that inhabits it, is waiting for God’s timing, whether or not you have faith. God’s timing is spontaneous and drags on. It is vague until the concrete is revealed. It’s similar to the sensation of finding your way around a pitch black room with a blindfold on and ear plugs in.
God’s timing only goes on three-day vacations once a year. Twice if you’re really waiting for even the smallest miracle. His timing aches and it soothes. It elevates and pummels. It is seldom easy. It is clarifying. God’s timing is wise but can seem facetious.
It will only be understood when it is to be.
“It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.“

no evidence of this at all. The universe proceeds, stars come into being and die out. Humans come and go, and yet still no evidence of some god controlling things like you want to claim. For if everything is “waiting” then there is no free will, and your god is responsible for everything that happens. No excuses for this supposedly omnipotent, benevolent god left.
Hi!! I’m so glad to hear your thoughts and you’re right, free will is super important and we all have free will. That line is not meant to neglect the free will you and I have to have faith in God or not. Rather it’s meant to address how all of us long for something bigger than us…we all have to wait for the perfect time to accomplish/reach a certain milestone or goal in our life. We wait to graduate high school (we’re active in doing what we can but still waiting for that time to come), we wait to meet someone to fall in love with (again, not just sitting around but we keep meeting people until we meet a person we connect with). In that waiting we are exercising our free will while we still long for the “perfect” timing for it to come to pass. Because of my faith, I attribute that perfect timing to God’s timing, He decides when those things will come to pass. You can attribute that timing to whatever you choose (since you have free will).
In case you want to delve deeper that line is inspired by this verse in the Bible “the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.” Romans 8:21-22
