Something New

Welcome to 2021! Being that we’re almost thirty days into the new year I don’t need to muse about how things might magically turning around. As we’ve seen over the past weeks, 2021 is giving us 2020 energy. While our world continues to do whatever it is doing, this website is not. Yes, we’re turning a new leaf here at A Prodigal Love. I want to take things in a new direction by exploring concrete topics related to every day life. What sort of topics? Well there are a lot, but I want to start with exploring singleness.

Wait! Before let out a bored sigh, just hear me out.

Singleness, for me, has been a journey of losing my self, self-discovery, heartbreak, loss of friendships, tearing down old boundaries, building new boundaries, losing my religion, gaining faith in God, travel, exploring sex and sexuality, and so much more. Singleness, contrary to popular belief, has been (and continues to be) a fruitful and exciting season of my life. I am more of the person I always dreamt of being however, the journey to get here was anything but easy. And I want to explore that, with you. I want to have a conversation about the triumphs and challenges of this season of life. I also want to invite other folks to share about their journey through singleness.

What does this all mean?

It means I’m going back to the drawing board to create a plan. I want to outline the topics we’ll be exploring and find the people who can accompany us on that journey. Psst: let me know if you have any you would like us to talk about OR if you would like to write about your journey on A Prodigal Love. I need about a month and a half to do this. In the meantime, I will mostly write about things— such as videos, pictures, shows, music, etc—that have been a source of inspiration.

I am looking forward to seeing how things shape out and I hope you’ll join us on this journey.
