Hey guys!
You have to forgive me. I know with each post I say that I will become consistent in my posting. To tell the truth it is taking discipline. I have to remember that this page is helpful to me in my faith and to others. This page is a way for me to use my talent, writing, to glorify God. Please bear with me as I learn to be disciplined and become consistent in my posts. As a refresher I would like to let newcomers and future visitors know who I am, why I made this page, and what I believe in.
My name is Enni and I am a rising senior at a university in the U.S. capital. I study economics (major) and journalism (minor). I have been living in the capital for three years and counting. I really enjoy writing because it helps me to organize and better communicate my thoughts. I am 20 years old and of course I really do not know what I want to do with my life, I am learning to leave it to God to fulfill his vision for my life.
I made the decision to follow Jesus on a rainy winter night on January, 9 2013. Since then my life has been CRAZY! God has shown me my true character, which is UGLY, but He has assured me that He while he is creating something beautiful in place of the unpleasant. I must clarify that I studied the bible to gain a base understanding of who God is, then I decided that I wanted to explore a relationship with Him. As a result I was baptized. I emphasis on baptism because I do not believe in “praying Jesus into your heart.” Even Jesus was baptized and he calls for his followers to be baptized.* I believe that baptism is crucial to be fully forgiven of one’s sins and for entrance into God’s kingdom.
I believe that God calls us each day to live out our lives according to His word. That is another crucial part to make it into His Kingdom; denying our flesh and living in the Spirit**. That is why I was inspired to make this blog. To write about the struggles and victories I face each day as I try to be like Jesus. This blog is a reference for me to go back to things I have posted on certain subjects such as Trust in God, Confidence in his Word, and Living for Eternity. So far it has helped me when I am falling short and inspired me when I am thriving spiritually. I hope it can help and inspire you as well.
*Luke 3:21-22 (NIV): When all the people were baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”
*Matthew 28:19 (NIV): Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
**Luke 9:23-25 (NIV): Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self?
